For example, if the weather is good, you could take a romantic 20-minute ride on the world's oldest all-round cable car to the top of Freiburg's local mountain, the 1,284 m high Schauinsland.  There you will find a great view of the Rhine valley and the heights of the Black Forest, a nice restaurant, a viewing platform and tower, and well-maintained paths for particularly beautiful walks or hikes.
